AccelRate shares its customers' vision to seize leadership positions in the competitive battery and charger industry. We will work with each partner to develop products to meet the highest performance requirements in each individual market.

Our strategy is to integrate AccelRate technology in collaboration with strategic partners, or licensees, to meet the specific product needs of each application. We will license our technology to leaders who will marry AccelRate’s patented charging algorithm with the particular market’s best hardware system and manufacture products to drive commercial sales and recurring revenues.

AccelRate’s unique charger algorithm gives developers, original equipment manufacturers, and licensees the flexibility to utilize different aspects of our technology.

The initial market niche AccelRate has accessed, the industrial market, has come to fruition with the formation of our relationship with Hawker Powersource Inc., one of the world’s leading industrial battery suppliers.

AccelRate’s objective is to become the licensor-of-choice to industry leaders in additional target markets, including portable, power tools, transportation, and military applications. In addition, AccelRate will investigate further market opportunities for use of its unique, patented product.

Portable

Laptops, mobile phones, digital cameras and personal digital assistants (PDAs) are fueling growth for batteries and battery chargers. The miniaturization of mobile phones and the introduction of enhanced cellular capabilities, are forcing battery manufacturers to boost product power and reduce size. Most users of battery-powered electronic devices solve the dead battery problem by carrying an expensive extra battery, even though they frequently also carry the device’s charger. A charge that can be applied in a few minutes rather than a few hours would be a significant benefit. With this in mind, AccelRate’s unrivalled charger and battery control technology could experience explosive growth.

Benefits include a dramatically reduced recharging time and battery life extension, both generated without additional cost to the consumer.

Power Tools

As cordless tools increase in power and capability, they are more frequently used by professional tradespeople. Unfortunately, heavy use can easily discharge a battery in less time than it can be charged, necessitating multiple expensive batteries and even multiple chargers. Using AccelRate technology, recharge would be reduced to minutes from hours, permitting the user to continue working with faster battery changes.

Benefits include reduced charge time and extended battery life, allowing enhanced productivity and reduced capital costs.

Transportation

Concern with carbon emissions has resulted in numerous government programs to prevent further pollution through battery powered products such as electric vehicles. The range of applications for electric vehicles today is extensive, including automobiles (either pure battery electric or hybrid electric vehicles), golf carts, neighborhood electric vehicles, airport ground support equipment, recreational vehicles, electric bicycles, scooters and marine. Many of these offer non-polluting alternatives to incumbent technology, but the long recharge time has often been a deterrent.

By significantly shortening the time necessary to recharge these vehicles, the AccelRate charger can increase their attractiveness.

In marine and recreational vehicle applications, more and larger on-board electric appliances can rapidly drain the bank of batteries, resulting in lengthy charge cycles running a noisy generator. Rapid charging will reduce generator run-time and increase enjoyment of the vessel or vehicle.

Benefits include quick full state-of-charge or “top up anytime” opportunity charging, an extension of battery life, as well as quiet operation.

Military

The military has numerous critical power needs. Batteries are an important element of many portable military systems including communications sets, night-vision devices, and sensors for training and combat. Without power, these systems are not viable.

Other Markets

Additional opportunities exist to incorporate AccelRate technology. For example, other applications that could benefit by using AccelRate technology include solar and/or wind power systems, emergency systems, remote control toys, and others. The applications are as diverse as there are uses for rechargeable batteries.
